Reza Movahedi

Hello, I’m Reza, a GIS specialist and urban planner based in Dublin, Ireland, with a background in architecture.

After several years of professional work in architecture, I completed an MSc in Urban Ecological Planning at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Norway. This broadened my focus from individual buildings to the environmental and social challenges shaping cities and communities.

I recently completed an MSc in Geoinformatics at University College Cork (UCC), Ireland, developing skills in GIS, spatial analysis, programming, and remote sensing. My thesis assessed flood, heatwave, and windstorm risks across Ireland’s railway network, connecting climate risk with transport resilience.

I’m interested in combining spatial data with an understanding of local places and people to support better planning decisions. I’m currently seeking opportunities in GIS, climate risk, transport, and urban planning in Ireland, and welcome research collaborations.

Outside my professional work, I enjoy cycling, oil color painting, cooking, and exploring new places. I’m also a professional chef with several years of experience. This website brings together my research, design projects, fieldwork, and creative interests.
